Job Title: Local Food Systems Campaign Coordinator

Duration: Aug 2026 -> 12 months

Hours: Flexible 8-16 hours depending on responsibilities

Remuneration: €24/hour

Location: Remote but based in Ireland, with attendance at key events

Talamh Beo is a grassroots organization of farmers, land-workers and citizens in Ireland campaigning for Food Sovereignty, and Agroecology.

We are seeking a dynamic Campaign Coordinator to lead our advocacy and mobilization efforts around the recognition and resourcing of Local Food Producers in Ireland. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Talamh Beo’s Local Food Policy working group to plan, fundraise for, and execute a high-impact campaign grounded in our recent research and existing proposals for building Local Food Systems. 

 

Candidate must have:

  • Campaigning experience
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate policy ideas into public narratives, campaign materials and social media content.
  • Experience in facilitation and coordination
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic team
  • Familiarity with Food Sovereignty and Agroecology

You will help the working group define the overarching narrative, translating it into compelling content for media and public outreach. As a relationship builder, you will liaise directly with government representatives, mobilise and energise our grassroots membership, and forge strategic alliances with key stakeholders and relevant organizations to build momentum, community growth, fundraising, and advocacy, while ensuring that the voices of farmers and practitioners are centered.

 

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Liaising with our internal Local Food Policy group, you will deliver a comprehensive advocacy campaign based on Talamh Beo’s Local Food Systems ambitions 
  • Develop a compelling overarching campaign narrative to guide all messaging, articles, and digital content.
  • Organize high-impact public outreach events and “campaign moments” to boost public visibility and political momentum.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

  • Lobby and build relationships with government representatives, policymakers, and state agencies via meetings, calls, and written briefings.
  • Identify, map, and collaborate with non-governmental allies, civil society organizations, and sector stakeholders to build a broad advocacy coalition.
  • Mobilize and energize the grassroots Talamh Beo membership to actively participate in campaign actions.

Communications & Media Management

  • Coordinate media relations, including drafting press releases, pitch letters, and managing interview requests.
  • Create and manage engaging social media content across all organizational channels to drive online traction. 

Resourcing & Sustainability

  • Secure campaign funding through targeted fundraising initiatives, grant applications, or event sponsorships.
