Subject: URGENT: Reject NGT deregulation - Protect Farmers, Consumers and Seed Sovereignty. 


Dear ________ MEP


I am writing to you as a concerned citizen/farmer to urge you to vote against the current proposal for the deregulation of New Genomic Techniques (NGTs/New GMOs). 
The proposed regulation (as agreed on in late 2025) removes essential safety checks, traceability, and mandatory labeling for the vast majority of new GMOs. This poses a severe threat to the GMO-free agricultural sector, organic farming, and the sovereignty of farmers over their seeds.
 
I am calling on you to ensure:
1. Purpose-based exemptions for the exchange of seeds between farmers and gardeners.
2. A single, inclusive definition for conservation varieties.
3. The rejection of NGT deregulation to protect our fields from GMO contamination and patent infringement.
Will you vote to protect the right of Irish farmers & citizens to save their own seeds and keep our food system GMO-free? (on 21st April 2026)
As we need to preserve our right to choose our food and farming systems.
